Privacy Policy

1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to anyone who visits this site, creates an account, or contacts us for support.
2. What this product does
Simple Google Review Widget lets business owners connect their Google Business Profile, pick which of their real Google reviews to display, and embed a review widget on their own website. You sign in with your Google account — we never see or store your Google password.
3. What data we collect and why
- Google account data — when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and Google account ID. We use this to create and manage your account.
- Google Business Profile data — with your permission, we read your business's public Google reviews via the Google Business Profile API. We store a local cache of the reviews you select so your widget loads quickly. We never modify, delete, or post to your Google Business Profile — read-only access only.
- Widget configuration — the settings you choose (which reviews to show, layout, styling) are stored so your widget keeps working.
- Technical and usage data — standard server logs: IP address, browser/device type, pages visited, timestamps. Used for security, debugging, and keeping the service running. Not sold or shared for advertising.
We do not collect payment data. The current product has no paid tier.
4. How we use your data
- To create and manage your account.
- To fetch and cache your Google reviews so your widget stays up to date.
- To serve your widget to visitors on your website.
- To respond to support requests.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
5. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Performance of a contract — processing your account data and reviews to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain records to comply with applicable law.
6. Who we share data with
- Google — you sign in via Google OAuth and we read your Business Profile reviews via their API. Google's own privacy policy governs what Google does on their side.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — the server and database that runs this product.
- Legal authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.
7. Your Google data
We access your Google Business Profile reviews in read-only mode. We store a cached copy of the reviews you select to serve your widget. We do not share that data with any third party other than rendering it in your own widget on your own website.
You can disconnect your Google account at any time from your Google account's connected apps settings. Disconnecting will stop your widgets from refreshing with new reviews.
8. Retention
We keep your account data and cached reviews for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where we're required to keep records by law.
9. Security
We use HTTPS for all connections, access controls on our database, and keep third-party access limited to what the product requires. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us at privacy@taidetools.com.
10. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; restrict or object to certain processing; and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Email privacy@taidetools.com to exercise any of these rights.
11. Children
This product is for business owners and is not directed at children under 13.
12. Changes
If we make material changes we'll update the effective date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
